Internship

One way you may support Dennis Foundation and get at the same time a lot of different experiences and impressions is internship work. We are always looking for interested people, which want to build up a young organization. Your internship will be characterized by exchange. You will experience a new environment for your work and your living. We offer you the opportunity to stay in our community and also get several impressions of daily Ghanaian life. Please note that the homestay program for volunteers and interns is slightly different. If you want to know more, read here.

However, your work itself is also much influenced by exchange. We hope you have some ideas and views which enhance our organization, develope our programs and help us on our way forward. You will also get some new points of views about malnutrition, the Ghanaian way of organizing and our culture. Therefore we expect you to be open for a different work experience and a lot of new impressions. Furthermore it is important, that you bring self-reliance and interest into our internship, because a lot of work and development in the organization depends on your ideas and those we generate in exchange.

  • It is up to you ... your ideas and experiences will open different areas of work,

We will support you in all your tasks. If you want support, some impression and an inside view you can talk to Sebastian, a former intern, who will be at each point of your internship approachable for you. Please contact us if you are interested.

Volunteering

Dennis foundation volunteer program is a program set aside to help Ghanaian communities and also give the volunteers a feel of real Ghanaian culture. It is also similar to the internship program. You will experience a new environment for your work and your living. We offer you the opportunity to stay in our community and so get several impressions of daily Ghanaian life. Please note that the homestay program for volunteers and interns is slightly different. If you want to know more, read here.

On the other hand the volunteering program fits for people who want to stay shorter periods, want to be more flexible or want to try themselves in different kind of works. Therefore the volunteering program is not only focused on organizational development, but more on different tasks of work in the community and our projects. It includes: teaching, cultural exchange, community volunteering, health care, sport activities and the work in our organization. Depending on your time and your interest you will choose one of these fields and work.

  • Teaching: It offers you insights in the Ghanaian school system by taking part at the classes and mainly work with the children in the community after school, to help them with home works, answer questions and clarify issues. You can also choose to set up a sport program.
  • Culture exchange: You will work in our cultural projects and attend the workshops of drumming and dancing, cuisine, beads making and art work. This will expose you to our Ghanaian culture and we hope to offer you various opportunities to exchange with children and teachers.
  • Health care: This is one of our main issues. If you choose to set your focus here you will get some knowledge about malnutrition and prevention. You will work in the community, find and care malnourished infants and educate people around about the importance of right nutrition.
  • Organizational work: As a volunteer you can also choose to build up Dennis Foundation further, by working in our projects and doing fundraising as well as public relation work. For this purpose you should stay for more than 8 weeks, to get deep enough in the organizational structures and the way of work in Ghana.
  • It is up to you ... your ideas and experiences will open you different areas of work.
Program Duration: Minimum 2 weeks Maximum 12 Months

We will support you in all your tasks. If you want support, some impression and an inside view you can talk to Sebastian, a former intern, who will be at each point of your volunteering period approachable for you. Please contact us if you are interested.

Donation

We have been trying and will try further to do as much as possible out of the resources we have, but without any support it is difficult for us to extend our projects. If you like our work and want to support us there are several ways you can do it.

  • If you are interested in working in Ghana, you may join our internship or volunteer programs.
  • If you have some items or clothes you do not need any more we would be happy if you sent them to us.
  • If you want to support our programs we would be grateful if you donate some money.

By helping us you will get part of Dennis Foundation and our projects. We will inform you about our projects and would like you to welcome you in Cape Coast, to see what we together created.

Donate Items

If you have some items you think we can use in our projects we would be grateful if you sent them to us. However the difficult part is how to transport it to Ghana. Sure, if you are traveling anyway to Cape Coast and bring them with you we would welcome you to visit our projects and donate your items. If you are not on your way to Africa and too far away from our place please you can send them directly to our post adress. We provide you an address of our German partner organization. You may send the things there, declare them as to be used for Dennis Foundation and they will organize the shipment of the items. Therefore, if you want to donate, please contact us and we will find a way.

Donate Money

To support our project directly and quick we would be very grateful if you donate some money. Because a lot of our projects are very direct and small-scale even small amounts of money can help to feed an infant, to buy items for workshop or a school uniform. We will report what we did with the money and why it was important. There are three different ways to donate money:

UBills Africa is a mobile Donation-Plattform.
